This guide is produced to help our guests with disabilities to have a safe and enjoyable visit. The guide will provide a realistic picture of facilities and accessibility. Hopefully the guide will allow you to make informed decisions about the areas on the estate where you are able to visit.
We endeavour to provide access to all areas to all guests but by the nature of the Estate some areas are not suitable for those with disabilities.
Parking:
There are three designated parking areas:
To the front of the Garden centre
Adjacent to the entry to the north of the Shopping Village
Adjacent to the entry to the south of the Shopping Village
All areas are clearly marked ‘Disabled Parking’
Drop off Point:
There are no official drop off / pick up points but visitors can temporarily park next to the various entrances to the Shopping Village to drop off / pick up disabled passengers. Visitors must then immediately remove cars / vehicles to appropriate car parking areas.
Wheelchairs:
Wheelchairs are available for use from the Italian Gardens Entrance in exchange for a deposit of car / house keys (wheelchairs hired from the Gardens Entrance can be used over the whole Estate). Chairs are available on a ‘first come first served’ basis and no reservations are possible.
Wheelchairs are also available from the Garden Centre in exchange for a £25.00 returnable deposit (wheelchairs hired from the Garden Centre cannot be taken out of the building).
Electric Mobility Vehicles:
No electric vehicles are provided but access is allowed in all areas that are suitable. There are a number of steep ramps and visitors using electric vehicles are asked to take care and drive with caution.
Whilst on such vehicles visitors are responsible for their own safety and must wear appropriate safety equipment and seat belts if fitted.
Toilets:
There are unisex disabled facilities situated at the Gardens Entrance and the secondary toilet block situated at the beginning of the southern entrance to the Shopping Village. An additional facility is available at the Gardens Tea Room and the Garden Centre. All facilities are accessible without assistance to manual wheelchair users only. Each disabled toilet has an alarm cord that can be activated in an emergency.
Carers:
For information on prices for the Gardens, Lake & Adventure Play for disabled/carers please click here
To prevent abuse of this concession, documentary evidence of disability may be required.
Assistance Dogs:
Welcome in all areas
Access to the Italian Gardens:
There is a designated wheelchair route and visitors are asked to stay on the route as some areas, particularly some ramps are unsuitable. In general the Gardens are accessible and all major presentations are available to disabled users.
Hearing Impaired Visitors:
A hearing loop is installed at the Italian Gardens Entrance desk.
Visually Impaired:
No additional facilities are currently available but we hope to provide an Audio Guide for the Gardens and Adventure Play in the near future.

Disabled guests or their carers are welcome to ask for further information from all members of staff or in advance from the Italian Gardens Entrance on 01782 646 646 or e-mail enquiry@trentham.co.uk.
